Translation

WBS Translations per word pricing for a fully translated text includes translation, editing and proofing (TEP) by separate qualified linguists. All of our projects go through a complete TEP (translation, editing, proofreading) process by native speakers.

Our Translation Memory tool matches segments which have previously been translated, so you are spared ever having to pay twice for identical sequences. Translation Memory is used to monitor and assist with the translation process. Translation Memory is a database within the TM that monitors the progress of translation in real time and memorizes translated words, phrases, or sentences.

Translation Memory develops and expands with each translation per client. This benefits the client not only with repetition discounts, but also with quicker turnaround times, and results in improved translation quality.

Editing

Editing is a service provided by WBS Translations and used to check and resolve problems with previously translated materials. Whether you want to double check your translated text or you are not happy with the original translation, WBS Translations has expert editors ready to review your documents.

We can take new inputs or considerations and edit the text to adapt to a particular local market. Our editing services are designed to help our customer at every stage of a project. We also consent to working and coordinating with other agencies to ensure that you get the most accurate and reliable end product. Do not take the risk of publishing a document that may not be ready and verified as 100% accurate. Having to reprint, publish and redistribute text is expensive and can damage your image, not to mention the time wasted in the process.

Proofreading

Our proofreading service includes the analysis of content, organization, coherence, tone, and style of text. We also double check for any spelling, grammar, punctuation and capitalization errors. Proofreading is different from editing in that it focuses on reviewing your document to ensure correct punctuation, grammar, spelling and basic style.

Another key distinction is that proofreading services involve only the target version of the document. Of course, if we see something that may be incorrect, we will bring it to your attention with the other changes. Editing services involve a more thorough review of a translated text and place intense focus on style and structure, as well as the source files.

Desktop Publishing

Desktop Publishing is an important step in the document translation process and its value should not be underestimated. Not only do page layouts, images, colors, and punctuation affect how a user interprets your message, but in some instances, desktop publishing can have a direct impact on a product’s regulatory compliance or a user’s ability to successfully follow instructions (for example, the misplacement of a decimal can change the entire meaning of a unit of measurement). It is especially important that court materials such as applications or any other documents can be easily understood, be persuasive to your intended target audience and that punctuation is accurately placed.
